Transfer 8mm Film to Digital
It’s well past time to transfer 8mm home movies to digital!
Family home movies shot with 8mm film cameras were very popular from 1940 until the introduction of video cameras in the 60’s. Video offers options that replace the older film technology. Video is easier to handle, the images are immediately available and there is an audio track. Furthermore, we view it in a well-lit room. It’s little wonder that Video replaced film as the go-to media preference soon after its introduction.
Old 8mm film ends up stored and forgotten, supplanted by the newer, ever-changing video technologies. Those old film reels hold irreplaceable precious memories that should be recovered and viewed again when we transfer 8mm to a digital format.
Film transfer involves inspection, cleaning and lubrication of the old film prior to the transfer to a digital file format. Once converted to digital the files can viewed and easily shared.
Don’t wait ’til it’s too late!
